Fashola Bans Mini Skirts, Body Hugging Clothes in Lagos

The Lagos state Governor, Mr Babatunde Fashola’s administration has banned what they termed indecent dressing among female public servants. According to the released with insiders claimed the new rule is in line with Islamic rules, stated that all forms of dresses that expose breasts, contours and other sensitive female body parts have been outlawed.

The administration said that they took the decision as a result of worsening cases of indecent dressing among female public servants at the Lagos State Government Secretariat, Alausa, Ikeja, Lagos.

All forms of skimpy dresses or mini skirts, tight trousers revealing the contours, sleeveless dresses and blouses and body clinging dresses are worn by some female public servants as they walk about the secretariat.

A circular issued by the Head of Service, Mrs. Josephine Williams dated 7 February, 2014 has been sent to all government Ministries, Departments and Agencies, MDAs calling on all Directors of Finance and Administration, DFAs, to immediately move against indecent dressing in Alausa.

The circular, with the reference number CIR/HOS/14/Vol.1/022, said similar directive was issued through the HOS in 2005 in a circular number 113 mandating public servants to dress properly and decently to the office and official functions portray the good image of the state government.

Governor Babatunde Fashola  warned that it would begin to take drastic and punitive measures against recalcitrant public servants who flout the directive.

My take on this;  Fashola is an
ignorant, religious bigot, know that the time which the world was ruled by religion was called "THE DARK AGES". People were jailed for merely saying that the Sun is at the center of the universe contrary to the Bible that says the Earth is at the center. Joan of Arc was burnt alive for proclaiming to see visions, Spanish Inquisition is another sad story with religion. Then add The Crusades and you will know that religion and politics should NEVER go together. Now, without Jihad the world would have been a better place.
Nigeria is a free country, not an Islamic or Christian country, freedom of dressing is also part of the constitution of the federal republic.

Like seriously, Is the mini skirt our problem? Let us stop pursuing shadows. There is no road,, Ejigbo/Ijegun road is still bad, no water, no jobs, no electricity, no good hospitals and we are talking about mini skirts? When has Lagos state become a Muslim state? Did your Koran/Bible ask you Fashola to steal public funds? You constructed fifty kilometre of road for fifty one Billion which is a Kilometre for one Billion and you are talking about mini skirts? Shame on our leaders who are far from the truth.

Mini skirt to work or not, every office has a dress code that is given to every new employee on or before resumption. That is not the problem Lagos state or Nigeria is facing. Some governor or stakeholders should pls ban unemployment in this country.
How about our rights? Human rights?
I'm in no way supporting indecent dressing BUT what concerns the government with what one puts on? How does it affect the nation/state? Fashola seriously need to grow some ballz. Lagos/Nigeria is not a sharia state. We are FREE to do whatever we like as far as we are not hurting anybody.

I'm not a fan of mini skirt but I seriously need to buy one and let me see what the government will do about it..  ''Hey, we caught her wearing mini skirt on the streets'' How does that sound?
Soon we wont be allowed to hug males, to travel without a male standing for us, forced to marry or get stoned to death. RUBBISH.
Soon all these small small boys will use that as a  way in insulting and embarrassing women on the streets. I wonder why one man will  just wake up in the morning and make a decision for a whole state because he is in power. AWON ODE OSHI

Fashola needs to sleep in a coma.
