Keshi, Yobo quit Super Eagles

Super Eagles coach, Stephen Okechukwu Keshi has resigned his appointment after leading the team to the second round of the 2014 FIFA World Cup.

Nigeria's coach Stephen Keshi gives a press conference at the Baixada Arena in Curitiba on June 30 2014, on the eve of their
“I have to go back to my family and face fresh challenges,” Keshi said.

Similarly, Super Eagles Captain, Yobo Joseph said he has had enough and can go no further as national team player. “I think I should give the younger ones the opportunity to forge ahead. I have nothing new to offer.”

Do you think Mikel should join him? lmaoooo

  1. Coach Stephen has done his bit, Captain Joseph Yobe did nothing wrong in today's match! Nigerian must learn to accept defeat in every possibility. Football is a game with high probability of success or failure, and as such there are lots of perfections and imperfections associated with it. Nomatter the outcome, Nigerians must stop passing stupid blames and reigning insults and humiliatory remarks on our nationational team player(s), the coach and their family members. It is absurd and irresponsible. It is most ungrateful! We watched many world champions eliminated from group stage, yet, they coasted home undisturbed and were welcomed chorused and cheered happily by their countries. But the Nigerian case is opposite to and hopelessly different from such welcoming mentality.
Win or lose, our national team played a better game today and we all watched them dominated a former world champion France into the 70th minutes. And we should give them credit for that. That is the best way to build a better team, that is the best way to advance stronger and hopefully into the future. We must desist from ridiculing and hurling insults and humiliatory statements at our national team and their family members. It is discouraging, it kills the future morale and trust, it reduces our sport worth and estimation before the football community, it sickens!
Many moronic analysis and deluded critics have since taken pleasures in insulting and demoralizing our national team for sake of sentiment and politics but they forget that these guys are admired, envied and appreciated by other countries.
Take it or leave it, coach Stephen Keshi remains the best coach in Africa, our Super Eagle remains the best team in Africa, but, majority of Nigerians remain the most ungrateful, the worst fans, and the worst educated exposed people in the world of football. Grow up Mr and Mrs right. Think hard! Thank You Stephen Keshi, Thank You Super Eagle and the coaching crew.

  4. Even if it's not true, both will leave, somehow. The usual pattern or trend, though. Lack of discerning mind from onset caused this and many other problems of leadership. Selection is never based on merit rather, sentiments such as ' he has 99 caps, let him make it 100 to compensate him - that is, for Yobo. For others, it is one of such funny sentiment or consideration after another. In the end, rumours of resigning will fill the air. We keep wobbling and fumbling while our competitors get serious and do what they get to do to excel in everything they do: football, economy, education and governance. The approach should be: identify the problem, and set appropriate mechanisms to solving the problems. You can tell stories after success.
